Visas for Entry into Thailand

Please check your nationality here for eligibility to apply for a visa at the Royal Thai Consul in Hull as some nationalities may only apply direct to the Royal Thai Embassy, London.
Please call us on +44 (0)1482 581668 if in doubt

Visas for Thailand are required in the following circumstances:

A) For tourism purposes only: The need to apply for a tourist visa is determined by nationality and length of stay. Please check the Visa requirements link below to find out if you need a visa:
V2 - Visa Requirements by Nationality

Persons who are entitled to enter Thailand under the Visa Exemption rule or the Visa on Arrival rule without a visa for tourism purposes must be in possession of a confirmed international flight ticket to show that they will be exiting Thailand within the period allowed according to their nationality.

Without such evidence of exiting it will be necessary to obtain a tourist visa before embarking on your journey to Thailand. Nationals who must apply for a visa at the Royal Thai Embassy must do so in person and for more information they will need to check with the Embassy.

Persons travelling on a UK Travel Document (blue cover) must apply for a visa whatever their nationality or length of stay. Furthermore, where such persons can apply for their visa is determined by their nationality.

For further information about the Tourism Visas we can issue please visit our Tourist Visa page

B) For all purposes other than tourism: The appropriate visa must be obtained. For information about visas for purposes other than tourism please visit our Non-Immigrant Visa Page and also see the downloads section on the right (below if viewing this page on a mobile device).

All visas must be obtained prior to entering Thailand. For persons travelling from the UK to Thailand, visas can be obtained only from the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate.

Persons flying to Thailand from the UK without a valid visa may be granted a stay in Thailand of maximum 30 days provided they are in possession of a confirmed flight ticket showing that they will be exiting Thailand within the 30 days. Without such pre-booked exit flight the traveller may not be allowed to enter Thailand. Persons entering Thailand overland from an adjoining country without a visa may be granted a stay of only 15 days.
